QMC-007: Carpet Quality Testing
Before a carpet reaches the market, it needs to survive years of real-world use — and prove it. QMC-007 is the rig that proves it. Running since 2007.
Why carpet testing matters
Carpet manufacturers face a hard choice: launch a new quality and hope it holds up, or test it rigorously first. An untested carpet that fails in the field costs money in complaints, returns, and reputation.
Not every cleaning method works on every material. A linen-based or multi-material carpet can shrink or deform under water-based cleaning in ways a synthetic pile never would. Manufacturers producing hundreds of new qualities a year cannot afford to find that out from consumer complaints.
QMC-007 has been answering that question since 2007 — nineteen years of testing which carpets are safe to sell, and which aren’t.

We run standardised protocols on a one-by-one-metre sample, simulating years of real use, and measure exactly how the carpet holds up.
Consumer Quality Test
Simulates two years of normal home use. Vacuum and brush cleaning cycles with fiber-loss tracked after every run — rising fiber loss signals exponential degradation. One heavy powder-cleaning cycle. Spray extraction and rotating spray extraction on separate quarters of the sample. Shrinkage measured in both directions. Chemical resistance tested against water, acid, alkali, and cleaning products. Every metric scored 0–5 by two independent assessors.
Commercial Quality Test
Simulates five years of office or high-traffic commercial use. Same protocol as the Consumer test, but with three times the heavy-maintenance cycles — roughly two and a half times the total testing duration. Built for carpets specified into demanding commercial environments.
